8 people sentenced to life imprisonment in Hisar double murder case

A court in Hisar today awarded life imprisonment to eight people, including four brothers, who were convicted in a double murder case in Roshankhera village of Hisar district on July 27, 2016. The court also sentenced two people from the opposing group to three years and one year. In the same incident, he was sentenced to one year in prison because there was an argument between both sides.

The incident took place around eight years ago when a scuffle over a fight turned violent and two people, Baljeet and Dalbir, were killed with sharp-edged weapons. The police investigated eight people for double murder and brought bodily harm charges against the members of the opposing party.

Additional District Judge Gagandeep Mittal convicted four brothers Ajmer, Kulbir, Virender and Samunder and two other brothers Bedharak and Karamveer, Sonu and Nitin in the case and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

At the same time, a cross-case was also registered against the opposing group in the same matter. The court sentenced Vikas to three years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000. Sushil was also sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of Rs 5,000. Three other accused, Bijender, Sanjay and Narender, were released on parole.

Roshankheda resident Wazir Singh had alleged in his complaint that he was at his brother Baljeet’s house when 15 to 20 people attacked him. They entered the house and attacked Baljeet, Balbir, Dalbir, Sunil, Sunita, Naveen, Neha and Nancy and others with sharp weapons. Baljeet died on the spot after sustaining serious injuries while the injured Dalbir died during treatment two days later.
