Chicago weather forecast: Tornado warning for some of NW Indiana is running; Storms bring strong winds and floods to southern suburbs

Chicago (WLS) – Another round strong storms moved through the Chicago area on Wednesday afternoon.

ABC7 Accuweather meteorologist said the afternoon forecast called for potential storms, but it was isolated.

A Tornado clock is indeed Jasper County, Indiana until 10 p.m.

Tornado warnings and heavy thunderstorms were in force for parts of the northwest Indiana and the district south of Chicago, but they have expired since then.

The storm system also brought serious floods to the southern suburbs.

The Storm Prediction Center initially called for a risk of level 3 for most of the area in Chicago. Around noon, the risk of a large part of the area was reduced to a level 2, with a risk of north and west suburbs level 1 and a risk of level 3 for parts of the northwest.

The second, stronger striker line is expected to be along 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and south of the Interstate 80 due to the highest risk of storms.

Harmful winds and large hail are the main threats to the storms.

Several rounds of heavy rains and heavy winds in the course of the morning and the rest of Wednesday caused damage, floods and traffic delays in the region.

According to Indiana State Police, the Interstate 65 is closed to the north on the Mile Marker 239, 1 mile south of the Lowell exit, after five Semis, probably because of strong wind, as a short storm.
