Shoppers can find Black Friday deals at Ashland Town Center

ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) – Shoppers started early Black Friday morning at Ashland Town Center.

The doors opened at 7am

Cars filled the parking lot and shoppers packed the stores – trying to snap up the discounts.

It was a special Black Friday for high school friends Brittani Donahoe, Mallory Pennington and Melissa Lute. The three met again for their shopping trip.

“We’ve been out of high school for almost 21 years and we’re like, ‘Let’s do it.’ “Let’s do it,” Lute said. “So we all got up – well, some of us didn’t sleep. We got up around three in the morning and met, and we’ve been brawling in the shops since 5 in the morning.”

In addition to the excitement, Christmas shopping can also be hectic. Shoppers said it was important to remain calm during peak season.

“I think just to spread joy and kindness,” Lute said. “It’s already an environment where there are a lot of people and it can be overstimulating, but if you just refocus. Let’s spread joy. Let’s be kind to each other and just enjoy every minute while breathing deeply.”

The deals don’t stop on Black Friday.

November 30th is Small Business Saturday and some local stores in our area are offering specials to celebrate the holiday.
