March 28 “Connections”: Notes and answers for puzzle #656

Happy Friday, puzzle enthusiasts! If you have a hard time training today Connections Play then Newsweek Has your back.

The burneneas was started by The New York Times In 2023 and today it is the second most common game of publication behind Josh Wardle’s worm.

How to play “connections”

Connections Attention players with 16 words in four categories based on association.

Each of the four categories is marked with one color, which also means its level of difficulty. Yellow is the simplest category, followed by green, blue and purple. The puzzles are rarely uncomplicated and use homophones and pun – about other techniques – to challenge the players.

If you are particularly stuck, the players can press the Shuffle key, which reorganizes where the words are displayed on the screen.

Wyna Liu, a puzzle editor at The New York Times Who can do the daily Connections Games, tells Newsweek About their best advice on solving the game.

“Wait as long as you can do before you advise,” she said last year. “You may see the board and have fully identified the category and see five words that could belong in this category.”

She continued: “Do not try to guess the four words in this category, because although you know what the fifth member is, you will not know which of the four may not be.”

“Don’t do what I do, what ‘anger solves’,” added Liu.
