Wicker, Hyde-Smith Resoring Connect for Health Act again.

The US senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith, together with Brian Schatz from Hawaii, have now initiated the creation options for necessary and effective nursing technologies (Connect) for the health law on Wednesday.

The officials say that the law on Connect for Health expand the telemedia services as part of Medicare, make the COVID 19-related telemedicine flexibility permanently, improve health results and make the patient easier to connect with their health service providers. In 2024, more than half of American patients used telemedicine services, which emphasized the importance of expanded access to this form of care.

The officials introduced in 2016 said that the Act for Health was still the most comprehensive telemedizing network in the congress. Since then, several provisions of the law have been inserted into the law or adopted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), in particular in response to Covid pandemic. This includes provisions on the removal of restrictions on telemedia services for mental health, stroke supply and home dialysis.

If this version of the Connect for Health Act is adopted in the 119th congress, it would build on this progress, the officials said, including new and revised provisions, which should expand access to telemedicine. In particular, legislation would:

  • Define the origin sites permanently as a place of the patient
  • Make possible
  • Expand the authorization for members of the health professions to use Telemedia services
  • Remove unnecessary personal visiting requirements for Telemental health services
  • Make possible
  • Require more published data to understand how telemedicine is used, their effects on the quality of the supply and how it can be improved to support patients and health service providers
