Minten in the mix: New Boston Center Prospect Set for BS debut

Minten was acquired by the bruins as part of the return package for Brandon Carlo from the closure. After his arrival from Toronto, he played 10 games with Providence and scored seven points (three goals, four templates).

“I think they left and I thought because they thought that (my game) would translate well, and I think it went so far that it is a guy who plays well on both sides of the pucks, closes and passes and she plays so reliable, consistent hockey that the bruins want to play,” said Minten.

It was a whirlwind first Pro campaign for the second round 2022 (38TH in total). In 26 games for the Marlies this season, the native Vancouver had 13 points (six goals seven templates), while he adapted 15 games with the Maple Leafs, in which he scored 2-2-4 sums.

“I think it was good, I think it was all the taste of Pro hockey in my first year, which is good to get the repetitions as a young man,” said Minten, who also played four games with the Maple Leaf at the end of the 2023-24 season. “Understand how the business works, goes up, drove down a few times a few times. Just try to find out what you can do to stay and ultimately get to the NHL and stay there. Many good experiences. It was definitely helpful on my trajectory.”

The 6-foot-2, 195 pounder knows that there is a lot of responsibility on both ends of the Eises-a Centerman on the Pro level.

“I love it, I love getting the puck in the middle of the ice and being engaged everywhere on the ice rink. It’s a lot of fun.”

The interim head coach Joe Sacco said that it is commissioned with a stronger role in the defensive.

“For us, the reports we received is a very reliable player, a clever, intoxicating player,” said Sacco. “We will get involved in a role of the penalty tonight … We only try to play the game that he plays in the Providence. He played well down there. It is an opportunity for the organization to look at it.”
