Adem Bona uses the tank racing of Sixers and minutes that accompany it

Adem Bona could be the biggest beneficiary – not called Quentin Grimes – the 76ers tanking.

Bona has received a lot of minutes and possibilities, while the Sixers play without eight members of their normal rotation.

“I think that’s what I’m still talking about,” said coach Nick Nurse. “Can he bring this energy with him every night? Obviously he won’t get 15 options every night. But the spring, the energy, the jump, the outskirts, the lead of the floor and the safe transmission of the ball are all things we want to build with it.”

Rand protection is the largest that you try to build.

The Sixers believe that if the rookie center can block and change shots, which bounces off for its position and its score, it will be a solid participant.

One could argue that he was much more than that in defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday evening in the Wells Fargo Center.

The 6-foot 8, 235 pounder scored 28 points with six rebounds, three blocks and two steals, while playing for two MVP Giannis Antetocounmpo and a unique all-star Brook Lopez. Mind you, Antetokounmpo is a 6-11 power striker and Lopez is a 7-foot center.

Bona’s efforts made it possible for him to close the Hall of Famer Charles Barkley than the only Sixers rookies that scored at least 25 points while scored at least 85% in one game.

“He was really good,” said nurse. “I thought he was obviously super effective in the basket. (Bona) had some great surfaces with a few great clutches and dunks. He was a bit on the glass, tipped around and did a great job. It was great to see him.

In his last 10 games, the Nigerian scores an average of 13.4 points at 72.2%, together with 8.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks.

He will try to continue his solid performance if the Sixers (23-54) entertain the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday evening.

But the game on Thursday was something special for the 22-year-old because he played against Antetocounmpo.

Bona also started against the Bucks (42-34) with a defeat of 123-109 on January 19 in Milwaukee. That night he ended with 10 points, six rebounds, a steal and a block before he merged with 24 minutes 5 seconds.

“The game in Milwaukee was also my first start,” he said. “So I think that this way helped me protect it.

He was more under control when he registered a career high 34:56 on Thursday.

“If you play consistent minutes of every game, it helps to strengthen your self -confidence,” said Bona. “It also helps to know that you will be out there tonight – every evening. I think it helped me, it is far away.

“It is also a kind of launchpad in the next year and is preparing to play with all the great players in our team. I think that only helps me and build my experiences.”

Bona attacked the game from the start and scored 12 points in the first quarter. That was four points that were his earlier career -high for a game.

Grimes, the Sixers’ high-wax man, also raved about bonas marginal protection. He said Bona’s outstanding defense in the backend enables him to be more aggressive.

“That makes my work easier,” said Grimes. “I can put on. I can even get a bargain for me. … He did a great job for us in these last games.”
