“I just collapsed,” said Oliver Franklin, the owner of LowCation Studios. “He was, he was very young and it is only devastating.”

Franklin said Mcalmont had worked there for the last year to produce music.

“This year, you know, he was someone with whom I spoke every day,” said Franklin. “You know, he was always obviously in the studio and it was just crushed.”

Mcalmont and his parents live in Bowie, Maryland. They flew to the Bahamas for vacation on Friday.

Less than a day after the trip, his aunt Marcelle Bacchus said that the 23-year-old was found dead on the beach near his resort Atlantis Bahamas.

News4 spoke to her by phone.

“We have no answers,” said Bacchus. “We don’t really know, but it’s very frustrating. It seems that everything is being pushed under the carpet.”

According to the Bahama police, an autopsy mcalmont drowned and they don’t suspect a bad game.

But his family has questions.

The police informed them that there was a kind of problem in a restaurant before Mcalmont’s body was found.

“They said he spat on someone and ran through a door,” said Bacchus.

She says his mother told her when she went to his body, the authorities would only show her a photo. She said it looked as if Mcalmont had been beaten.

You also wonder why no surveillance video was published.

“We are only in the dark here,” said Bacchus. “We really need help, eyewitnesses, someone who reports and helps us solve this puzzle.”

News4 turned to the resort to help them get some answers. They sent an explanation with the inscription: “We are deeply sad about the death of one of our guests. Our condolences of the family and the relatives in this difficult time. The police authorities carry out an investigation of this tragic incident. We are waiting for the results of the police and will not comment on speculation.”

Bacchus told News4 that the family is working to get an international lawyer who can help them.

News4 spoke to McAlmont’s father by phone on Wednesday. He is still on the Bahamas. He refused to be interviewed.
