Canadians are hired in Augusta to appear

Canada well represented at the Masters Tournament, Augusta National Women’s Amateur and
Drive, chip and putt national finals

While the calendar is turning to April, Golffans are aimed at Augusta, GA worldwide.

Canada will be well represented at the 89th Masters Tournament with Four Canadians Currently Set to Competing Past Masters Champion, Mike Weir (Bright’s Grove, Ont.), Corey Conners (Listowel, Ont.), Taylor Pendh (Richmond Hill, Ont.) And 2023 RBC Canadian Open Winner, Nick Taylor (Abbotsford, BC).

Weir will take part in his 26th Masters tournament. His legendary victory in 2003 was secured in the first playoff hole of the Augusta National Golf Club to defeat Len Mattiace and the first Canadian Masters Champion and the first Canadian male golfer to win a major.

Conners, who will take part in his eighth Masters tournament, including 2015 as an amateur, had three consecutive top -10 placements between 2020 and 2022. His best finish, T6, 2022. Taylor will make his third appearance at the Masters, was T29 in 2020, while Pendendh will make his debut.

The superintendent of the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club, Eric Ruhs, who has been voluntary at the Augusta National Agronomy Department since 2014, has also returned to the Augusta National Golf Club (Augusta National). Ruhs has been the superintendent at Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club since 2014 and was commissioned as a superintendent of 2023.

Lauren Kim will take part in Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the second time in a row

Before the Masters tournament begins, Augusta National will organize the sixth annual Augusta National Women’s Amateur (Anwa) from April 2 to 5.

The team of Team Canada, Lauren Kim from Surrey, BC, will compete in a row in her second Anwa to build on last year’s T14 finish. Kim is currently at the University of Texas in the second year, where she was successful throughout her season. She claimed her second college title at Betsy Rawls Invitational in March and has three additional third placements together with Top-Five and Top-Six.

The Anwa has a field of 72 amateurs who play over 54 holes play stroke, with an average of 36 holes. The opening rounds will be fought on Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3, in the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, GA. The top 30 players and ties will climb into the last round at Augusta National on Saturday, April 5th. The entire field will play a practice round there a day earlier on Friday.

The first two rounds of the Anwa will be broadcast on the golf channel from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. NBC will radiate the last round on April 5 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Three Canadians will compete in Augusta at the national final of Drive, Chip and Putt

After the Anwa, the 11th annual Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals will be contested at Augusta National on Sunday, April 6th.

Three Canadians will be among the 80 qualified junior guns who have received invitations to take part in Augusta. They are:

All Kong from Vancouver, BC, which will compete in the 7: 9 division. Kong took its place through a regional qualification at Chambers Bay in University Place.

Jenny Guo von Langley, BC, will compete in the 12-13 division girls. GUO recorded 143 points at her regional qualification event in Chambers Bay, where her total of the second highest was among other national finalists in the division. Guo was also ont.

Riviera Lindholm from Toronto, Ont. will also compete in the 12-13 division. Lindholm received her qualification at a regional event in the Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, where she scored a total of 150 points, the highest total among the national finalists in her division. Last season Lindholm achieved a T4 finish at the Canadian U15 championship and took second place in the 12-13 division at the 2024 Junior Skills Challenge.

The Canadians enjoyed earlier successes at the National Finals of Drive, Chip and Putt. Three current members of Canada Canada previously won their respective departments. LPGA Tour member Savannah Grewal from Mississauga, Ont. won the girls with 14-15 division in 2017. Vanessa Borovilos by Etobicoke, Ont. Woned the Girls 10-11 Division in 2018 and Nicole Gal von Oakville, Ont. won the girls with 14-15 division in 2019. Colleagues Canadian Alexis card from Cambridge, Ont. won the girls 7-9 division in 2021.

Drive, Chip and Putt are carried out in cooperation with the USGA, the Masters tournament and the PGA of America and is a free program for the development of youth golf. The competition tests the skills of the game and measures the accuracy when driving, splinters and coups. Each competitor is achieved on a 30-point system-the players with the best ride get 10 points, the closest cumulative chips, 10 points and the player with the next cumulative putts, another 10 points. The player with the highest total number of points is appointed the winner from every age and gender department.
