Tsitsipas and Musetti will compete against each other in their career for the sixth time if they collide on Friday in the quarter-finals of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters. All five earlier encounters have gone away Tsitsipas’, including four on sound. It is not all Bad news for Musetti. Three of their four sound court competitions went back to the distance (including a five-setter at the French Open 2022) and the only one that was not 7-5, 7-5 result in the Rome Masters 2023.

It has been two years since they were last opposed to each other, and it would be fair to say that the playing field had significantly distinguished itself in this period. Musetti was excellent last year, led by a semi -finals in Wimbledon and the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. Tsitsipas won a third Monte Carlo title, but had to fight in 2024. So far, Greek Jordan Thompson and Nuno Borges have so far replaced, while the Italian BU YUNCHAOKETE, JIRI Lehecka and Matteo Berrettini defeated. Tsitsipas lost in the quarter-finals when he last defended 1000 points in Monte-Carlo, and it would not be a big surprise that he suffered the same fate in 2025 through a confident opponent.

(15) Grigor Dimitrov against (8) Alex de Minaur

While Musetti used Alexander Zverev’s departure from the top of the bracket, Dimitrov used Novak Djokovic’s early exit. The 33-year-old Bulgarian competed against Alejandro Tabilo instead of Djokovic on Thursday and came over the Chilean 6: 3, 3: 6, 6: 2-a result, which was mainly routine wins against Nicolas Jarry and Valentin Vacherot. Dimitrov is now 7-1 in his last eight games from Miami Masters.

Next for the world No. 18 is a sixth meeting with De Minaur, which leads the head-to-head series 3-2 (all on hard places). The 10th Aussie won three of his last four matchups, two of which came in straight sets. A Rothot-de Minaur already won 19 games in 2025, including two in Monte-Carlo at the expense of Tomas Machac (3-6, 6-0, 6-3) and Daniil Medwedev (6-2, 6-2). Although the 26-year-old is not in his absolutely best on Clay, he grew up on this surface and Dimitrov’s backhand slice does not cause as many problems as on grass or a smooth hard court.
