David Warner disfigures a heated claim of the Pakistani reporter about the “spreading hatred”: “For the first time I heard of it”

The Australian legendary former opener, David Warner, is preparing for his debut in the Pakistan Super League this year and takes over the helm as captain of Karachi Kings. Warner was an outstanding figure in various franchise leagues in his famous career and was previously not part of the PSL due to his packed schedule. With his retirement through the international cricket last year, he is now fully available for the tournament.

During his first press conference ahead of Karachi Kings’ opening game against Mohammad Rizwan’s Multan -Sultaneous Stand Warner before a rather exciting question of a Pakistani reporter.

The reporter claimed that many “Indians” Warner had trolled Super League because of playing in the Pakistan after the Australian was not selected last year during the IPL auction. He continued to ask Warner for a reaction to the “hatred”. However, the former Aussie Opener revealed that he first heard such a claim.

“This is the first time that I heard about it. In my view, I want to play Cricket. There is the opportunity to come to PSL. My international calendar does not allow me to come to PSL because of the times. Now I would like to start, captain of the Karachi kings and hopefully we can win the trophy,” said Warner.

Warner played for the Delhi Capitals in the previous IPL season and headed the franchise in the 2023 edition after Rishabh Pant, the then captain of the team, had to miss the season after a car accident. The franchise released the Australian before the auction in November.

Warner’s IPL record

Warner is still the most successful IPL abroad, with 6565 runs in 184 appearances. Throughout his career in the league, he represented two franchise companies: Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Some of the best years in the Warner league came with the SRH, where he also led the team to the title victory in 2016.

Overall, Warner remains the fourth highest scorer in the league, only behind the Indian trio of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma.
