Seahawks bring Drew Lock for the second time, confirms Quelle

Seattle – The Backup Quarterback Drew Lock is expected to sign for a second stint to the team at the Seahawks, a source that confirmed ESPN on Friday.

Lock should sign a two-year contract for $ 5 million, said a source of Adam Schefter from ESPN.

The 28 -year -old Lock returns to Seattle with the New York Giants after last season. He spent the two seasons in Seattle and supported Geno Smith after he was acquired in 2022 by the Denver Broncos in Russell Wilson trade.

The return of Lock as a potential backup by Sam Darnold brings Sam Howell’s future with the Seahawks. Seattle acquired Howell in March 2024 by trading the Washington commanders after losing the freelance agency. Howell fought over the low season in December and in a catastrophic relief appearance.

The Seahawks also made homework in this year’s design for quarterback prospects. Her list of 30 visits comprises you with Tyler Shough from Louisville, said a source ESPN, while the bleacher report reported that they also had a visit to Jalen Milroe in Alabama. Both quarterbacks are among the top 5 in the position of Mel Kiper Jr.

Lock went in five starts with the Giants 1-4 last season and threw six touchdowns and five interceptions. He also hurried on a few touchdowns when the team only won once in his eight appearances.

The inconsistency of the situation in New York has played some of the fights. Lock was declared Daniel Jones the backup for Daniel Jones at the moment he signed. He was the backup all summer and in the first 10 games of the season. But when the Giants made Jones on the way and finally cut, they skipped the castle and went to the third broadcaster Tommy Devito in the hope of a spark.

The team jumped back and forth between Lock and Devito for a large part of its 3-14 season. The highlight was Lock’s week 16 victory against the Indianapolis Colts when he had a total of five touchdowns.

Lock spent his first three seasons with the Broncos after moving in in the second round in 2019. He started 28 games in his six professional season and completed 59.6% of his passports for 6,354 yards with 34 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

Fox Sports first reported on the reunion of the Seahawks with Lock.

Jordan Raanan from ESPN contributed to this report.
