The Russian strike kills at least 31, injured on Palm Sunday over 80 in Sumy

In a Russian ballistic rocket stroke, dozens of people in northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, Artem Kobzar on April 13th.

At the time of the publication, 31 people were killed in the attack, including two children, and at least 84 people were injured, including 10 children, reported the emergency services of Ukraine.

The Ukraine Air Force warned of a ballistic rocket threat in Sumy Oblast at 10:17 a.m. At 10:52 a.m., Kobzar announced that the city had been hit with “many dead” as a result of a rocket strike.

“Enemy rockets met an ordinary city road, an ordinary life: houses, educational institutions, cars on the street … and this is one day when people go to church: Palm Sunday,” President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote after the attack on his telegram channel.

“Peace is impossible without pressure on the attacker. The conversations never stopped ballistic rockets and air bombs. We need the kind of attitude towards Russia that a terrorist deserves,” he added.

Videos circulating on social media after the attack bodies were scattered on the other side of the street, and several vehicles, including one bus, suffered serious damage after the attack, with a car being devoured in flames.

Palm Sunday is celebrated by Christians on Sunday before Easter. Many people in Ukraine visit the church on vacation.

The attack comes when Washington tries to orchestrate a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Kyiv agreed to a 30-day ceasefire a month ago, but Moscow has so far refused and continued to start attacks on the civilian centers of Ukraine.

On the day before the attack, President Donald Trump said that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine were “well”, emphasized that a resolution would soon have to come.

“There is a point where you either have to set up or hold the flap. We’ll see what happens, but I think it is going well,” he said to report.

Moscow started his offensive offensive Sumy and Kharkiv Oblasts in the northeast of Ukraine on the border with Russia, said the commander-in-chief of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on April 9.

“Today there are more than 67,000 Russian soldiers in the Kursk direction. (Russia) has completed the move for an attack in Sumy direction,” said Zelensky on April 9.
