“You are Manchester United, right? You expect trophies. I have great respect for Marc, I did it when he was the manager of Birmingham City and when he went to Orlando, he did a top job. He is a real coach on a high level. I expect a really difficult game.

“For us we have a big wish, it is really difficult for me to water down my expectations, and my expectation is that I want to win trophies for city women. I expect a difficult game, but I have the great desire to make progress.”

How have Skinner turned over from fans who relieved him last season in order to be the longest-reigning current WSL manager? An important moment came when he defeated Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last season, and he received an extension of one year. It is assumed that it was signed before they won the final even though it was announced afterwards.

Mark Skinner, the longest serving WSL manager, recently signed a two-year contract extension with Manchester United. His team is currently in the WSL third after he had granted the fewest destinations, but during the four -year reign of Skinner sailing it was not all smooth.
