Unpasted earthquake forecast Sparks alarm in Telangana and ..

The organization for earthquake research and analysis has published a warning of the potential occurrence of an earthquake near Ramagundam in Telangana. According to her research, a large earthquake could occur near Ramagundam, with its intensity possibly influencing regions of Hyderabad and Warangal to Amaravati and parts of Maharashtra.

However, this forecast was not confirmed by the government or scientific institutions. Officials emphasized that it is not possible to predict earthquakes in advance. Experts stated that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh fall under seismic zones II and III of the Pacific classification, where generally only low to moderate intensity is expected.

While earthquakes have occurred in this region in the past, they did not lead to significant damage. Officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that no public concern is required on the basis of unsuccessful information. They found that in 1969 an earthquake of 5.1 sizes in the Ongole region occurred in the Prakasam district, while in Adilabad, Telangana, a quake of 4.5 sizes was recorded in 1998. Hyderabad also had minor tremors in 1984, 1999 and 2013.

Experts confirmed that the earthquake forecast is not scientifically feasible, and there is therefore no reason for panic. However, she advised people to stay vigilant and careful.
