Travis Hunter says he would rather leave football than to only play WR or CB in NFL

The two-way star of Colorado, Travis Hunter, made it clear throughout the entire process that he would like to play both a broad recipient and the cornerback in the NFL, and he recently doubled his attitude.

Hunter said Garrett Podell from CBS Sports that an NFL team, if he wanted him to commit himself to play a single position, would rather not play football.

“It never plays football again,” said Hunter. “Because I have done it all my life and I love being on the soccer field. I have the feeling that I could dominate on every side of the ball, so I really like to do it.”

Hunter is one of the most unique prospects in the history of the NFL design because he is characterized on both sides of the ball.

The 21-year-old won the Heisman Trophy in 2024, after achieving 92 catches for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns as well as a lavish touchdown for the offensive, while 36 duels, 11 passes were defended, four interceptions and forced fumbling in defense. He is the only player in College Football story who wins both the Chuck Bednarik and Fred Biletnikoff Awards as the best defensive player and most outstanding recipient in one season.

Podell noted that Hunter contained 713 offensive snapshots and 748 defensive snapshots in 2024. While the level of competition in the NFL is much larger, the boy is steadfast in his conviction that he can maintain his production.

“I am only very confident about myself and have a competitive spirit that I can do what I come to mind and I have the feeling that I can do it,” said Hunter.

The head coach of Colorado, Deion Sanders, also expressed the trust that Hunter’s two-way skills will lead to the NFL level.

“The NFL is a slow game. You scurry (every piece). What is the contact now? Minimal. This game is more beneficial for him than a college game,” said Sanders at the beginning of this month to Colorados Pro -tag. “The college is speed, pace, pace. Now they have to talk about them. Professional professionals, how many seconds between the games? Please, he will jog after the damn game because he will have all this energy, man. He is built for it.”

The NFL scouting department of B/R predicted in its most recent bill that the Cleveland Browns Hunter would select with the No. 2 selection. The team that selects him will surely hope to use his full selection of skills. So it will be exciting to see where it ends up when the design begins on April 24th.
