S Kennedy Urlacher is the transfer portal after a season at Notre Dame

Notre Dame Safety Kennedy Urlacher will enter the NCAA transfer portal Pro.

Hayes Fawcett was the first to report.

The 5-foot-11, 195 pounder performed as a newcomer in 2024 in 14 games and recorded 12 duels in the season. Urlacher played a role in special teams (128 games) and 65 snapshots in defense, including 23 games against Purdue.

In fact, Urlacher made at least one duel in every game outside of Louisville’s game. The high -ranging Arizona’s season was three duels against Purdue and his only pass separation came against the boiler makers.

Why leave Notre lady?

The rise of classmate Tae Johnson could be a reason. The natives of Fort Wayne (Ind.) Drained in the spring enthusiastic reviews of his colleagues and trainers and organized a show a week before the spring game during the emergency lady. Junior Luke Taich was also impressive in spring and it probably fits best in the security role, which is also Urlacher’s strength.

Virginia Tech’s transfer also arrived in January. The power did not practice this spring when he recovered from a collarbone injury, but he is expected to play an important role in autumn.

Urlacher spoke at the beginning of this month and seemed satisfied with how his freshmen was in South Bend.

“To be honest, I didn’t expect anything less about the last year because we, how talented and how connected we were,” said Urlacher. “Overall, it was a great year. I enjoyed the camaraderie with the boys.”

When it went to his own game, Urlacher believed that he grew under the guidance of Mike Mickens.

“A lot of growth,” said Urlacher. “Constant improvement.”

Urlacher’s departure violates the total depth, but the Irish also built up a high quality depth, which is rarely to be said when they talk about the safety position.

In addition to Johnson, power and actual, Notre Dame returns with the certainty Adon Shuler, who recorded 59 duels and three interceptions in 2024. The Irish will also have many young people in the positions in early participants Jadon Blair and Ethan Long.

The red-shirt newcomer Taebron Bennie-Powell is back from injuries, and Redshirt in the second year Ben Minich can also play security. Notre Dame will also welcome Signe Brandon Logan in 2025. Colleagues 2025, Dallas Golden, could also play security or corner when he arrives this summer.
