James Brolin reveals his almost 30-year marriage to Barbra Streisand

James Brolin shared some of the secrets of his long -lasting marriage to Barbra Streisand.

During a appearance on Tuesday, April 15th on the Today Show, the 84-year-old actor was asked about his relationship with the 82-year-old Funny girl Star. The couple is together for 29 years after it was introduced to a blind date in July 1996. Two years later, they exchanged vows.

How did you manage to stay together for so long?

“The best investment we have ever met is our mattress,” said Brolin. “And don’t get me wrong. We are both lazy. We love to sleep late. We do a lot of our work on the phone, on paper, reading, right next to each other.”

Brolin shared another trick that helped them keep their love strong.

“You learn to take a walk. We both, not only me! I just think you have to say: ‘Okay, take a breath, go a walk,” he said.

He continued: “Because animals do the same, you know? People do it together, animals do it together.”

Before the meeting in the 1990s, Streisand was married to Elliott Gould between 1963 and 1971. Brolin was previously bound to Jan Smithers and Jane Cameron Ageee. After the meeting in July 1996, the couple tied exactly two years after the meeting on July 1, 1998.

Streisand celebrated her anniversary with a sweet contribution to Instagram in July 2024. “Today since we met honey … and now for 26 years since we got married!” She raved and added: “Love yourself. B ❤️.”

This is not the first time that Brolin shared similar advice to maintain a strong relationship.

“I think everyone has to be a negotiator,” he told people in September 2022. “Everyone has to be patient and know when to go for a walk.”
