Aaron Rodgers’ latest ultimatum cemented the NY jets to continue

The New York Jets decided to continue in Aaron Rodgers in this low season and to reduce relationships with the future Hall of Famer only two years after the purchase in a blockbuster trade.

It marked a turning point for the franchise when the new general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn was looking for the team in their own vision, one that Rodgers did not include.

According to all reports, it was not just the jets that pulled away. According to reports, the split may have been more mutual than some at the beginning. While the jets were ready to go in a different direction at Quarterback, Rodgers doesn’t seem to endeavor to return to a team without a clear Super Bowl path.

This decision to continue looks more intelligent from day to day.

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala from CBS Sports, Rodgers is “more in retirement than to sign with a team that is not a super bowl candidate”. The report draws a clear picture of a quarterback that is not interested in rebuilding projects or transition years.

Rodgers only wants to return if he believes that he can fight for a championship immediately, and that probably excludes the jets before they have ever made their last call.

NY -Jets are still validated for the move of Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers’ decision was a complex for the new jets regime in this low season. The four-time MVP had the worst season of its NFL career, but was still seen as one of the most attractive options in a weak quarterback market.

But as is always the case with Aaron Rodgers, the conversation stretched far beyond his game in the field. His contract, his recent injury and the severity he carries on the field played a role in the decision of the jets.

Rodgers’ persistent indecisiveness of his plans of 2025 makes the decision of the jets only look prudent. The 41-year-old has spent the entire low season to flirt into retirement, and while the Pittsburgh Steelers will continue to be her quarterback this year, Rodgers does not have to official.

The Steelers are only a few days from the beginning of the NFL design from 2025, and they still don’t know who will be their quarterback. They were essentially held hostage by Rodgers when he weighed his options.

This is a situation in which the jets probably feel happy to have avoided, especially in view of his intentions, to play only for a candidate this year.

The jets won only five games with Rodgers as quarterback last season. It is difficult to imagine a scenario in which you can improve the squad so much in this off -season that you can legitimately fight for a championship with him in 2025.

Rodgers could still believe that he can fight for a title, but it is clear that he only wants to do this in his own conditions. This is not the type of approach that hugs this new jets regime. The organization turned the site and with every new Rodgers update this decision looks intelligent and smarter.
