DHS tells us that the citizen and immigration lawyer from California should leave the country – NBC 7 San Diego

Aldo Martinez received an e -mail on April 11 from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and asked him to leave the country or would be removed. It was:

“You are currently here because the Department of Homeland Security has kept it to the United States for a limited period of time. DHS is now exercising his discretion to terminate its probation.

“I was born in National City, California,” said Martinez. “I was never on probation, I was never accepted into this country, I am not a kind of probation.”

Although he was born in the United States, Martinez said that he was still concerned because he had helped the undocumented community for years.

Martinez is a representative Ministry of Justice recognized by the Ministry of Justice to provide legal services for immigration, and was part of the organization Al Otro Lado, where workshops were taught to teach immigrants to represent themselves in front of the immigration court and help them fill out asylum applications.

Martinez said he was also part of several complaints against the first Trump government four years ago.

“Complaints to stop the borders they were looking for asylum in the United States,” said Martinez.

On March 22, President Donald Trump said in a memorandum that in immigration cases he would apply to lawyers for what he described as “misconduct”: “Accountability is particularly important if misconduct of lawyers and law firms threatens our national security, homeland protection, public security or election integrity.”

On April 11, Nicole Micheroni received a similar e -mail from the Federal Government in Massachusetts and US Citizen Citizen Nicole Micheroni, which asked her to leave the country. She was amazed.

“At first I thought it was for a customer, but I looked very carefully and the only name in the e -mail was mine,” said Micheroni.

Martinez said that he did nothing wrong, but added that it is not just lawyers or legal representatives who should be concerned.

“I was surprised and scared because this government had no problem sending ice to me, even though I am a citizen,” said Martinez.

Martinez doesn’t know why he received the DHS letter, but he can’t help but believe that the memorandum has something to do with it.

“I just wanted to speak because we couldn’t allow this to happen to our community,” said Martinez.

In a statement to NBC 7, DHS said that Martinez may have received this e -mail because its customers used his address if they did not have an E -Mail access.

“Customs and border protection issues information on the termination of the probation for people who have no lawful status and CBP used the known email addresses of the foreigner to send notifications. If an non-personal e-mail and an American citizen contact was made, the foreigners were specified.

Nevertheless, said Martinez, he is concerned that the immigration lawyers will be returned to the immigration lawyers.

“I think it is a intimidation tactics against our community, whether they are a citizen or a legal constant or undocumented citizen,” said Martinez.

Martinez, who is currently working for the non-profit community center of La Maestra and offers immigration penalty in detention centers, does not know what his letter will happen, but said that he was afraid of being detained and reported by the country in which he was born, and another mistake that was committed by the Trump administration.
