Hymns filled the air and the incense, which in holy swirls as the present and past Kingston College (KC) student on Sunday morning fulfilled the St. Augustine Chapel on the school North Street Campus to start a one -week celebration of the 100th anniversary.

The service devoted himself to KC students, the board of directors, the headmaster, the academic and additional staff, the parent teacher association and the Old Boys’ association when they recognized the vision of his founding manager Bishop Percival Gibson.

The communities look back on the death of Jesus when they marked the day, on which Christians celebrate as a Palm Sunday and at the same time considered the history of KC.

“One hundred years is a long time in the life of a person and certainly in the life of an institution, and we can see the success through the exams and difficulties and think about our journey, which began with these 49 boys 100 years ago,” said Garth Minott, the Bishop of Electricity of Kingston. Minott emphasized that KCS had an impact on Jamaica and argued that this helped change the school to change the academic landscape by giving young men in Jamaica equally. “The Kingston College was born to engage the Jamaican people, the Jamaican society, the Jamaican children and the boys who had each access to the same right and justice,” said the Jamaician. Refers to the school’s motto ‘Fortis Cadere, Cedere Non Potest“With the English translation” the brave May falls, but never brought back, “said Minott that this was not only a perfect description of the school’s journey and beginnings, but also a” gospel period “that the students should continue to apply in every aspect of their lives. Expectations that were built up by the call, ”said Minot.

He asked the students and other communitys not only to celebrate the 100-year trip, but also to strive for more top performances and continue to build on the school’s reputation.

In the meantime, the chairman of the school board of the school authority Michael Vaccianna proudly pressed the success and optimism of the institution for his future. The Kingston College family to get involved to ensure that the Kingston College remains a place where Excellence strives, where discipline is taught with compassion and on which young men are prepared to make worthwhile contributions to society with God at the center of the whole, ”said Vacianna.

The celebrations will continue this week with an anniversary parade of the 100th anniversary, in which the mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby will present the school with a key to the city.

The celebration culminates on Wednesday, the day of the school year, with a Gala Aaward Bankettzeremonie in the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.
