Second surcharge: Can IGA SWIATEK emulate Carlos Alcaraz to start the sound season?

Iga Swiadek has been set for a mammoth for a few months.

The second world of the world defends 4,195 points during the sound court season after its amazing 2024, which gave you every tournament on the surface rod that Stuttgart was open. Even then she reached the semi -finals.

Poland’s Swiatek both won 1,000 titles in Madrid and Italy before scored another 2,000 points that defended their French Open title.

Simply put, she defends 54% of her 7,276 points in the next six weeks – and number three in Jessica Pegula, who breathes her neck, does not defend.

Clay is Swiatek’s best surface.

But it was a difficult year for Swiatek. She lost in the Australian Open semi-final from Match Point Up, was stunned in the Miami Open by Filipina Teenager Alexandra Eala and cut a stressed, irritated personality at the Court of Justice.

Swiatek also had to deal with a disturbing incident in front of the square and verbally abused by an “aggressive and mocking fan” in Miami.

A return to her preferred tone could deliver a reset – as Carlos Alcaraz showed.

Alcaraz, like Swiadek, is the defending French Open Champion. He also had a mixed start of the year. He also had a surprising loss in Miami and, like Swiatek, has the tendency to be overly self -critical.

The new Monte Carlo Champion did not have it to the title. His quarter -finals against Arthur Fils was a difficult, close encounter, and the Spaniard was the second best in the early phases of the final against Lorenzo Musetti.

But Alcaraz found a way and ultimately win a way. This week, Swiatek can imitate this week in Stuttgart and beyond.
