‘The Rookie’ Boss talks about Lucys Sergeant’s examination and Chenford, final of the 7th season, more (exclusive)

As The rookie Shortly at the end of his seventh season (no worry, it has already been renewed), it is still the question of some of the refugees who were free at the end of the last final, Monica (Bridget Regan) and Oscar (Matthew Glave).

However, the ABC drama offers us another episode in the documentary on Tuesday, April 22nd. In “A Deadly Secret”, documentary filmmaker interviews the LAPD about the fall of a complicated missing person connected to John (Nathan Fillion). This episode, the executing producer Alexi Hawley, contains some “few unexpected revelations” for Tim (Eric Winter) and Lucy (Melissa O’Neil): “Some things said that a camera that might not think of what I don’t think is fun.” In the following he presents more about what will come in season 7.

Monica is still out there, but we have a foretaste of what she intends to do with the “speed” episode. What can you say about what you are going to do and how you will play it?

Alexi Hawley: I can certainly say that she will come back to a large scale by the end of the season. I don’t want to be more precise, but yes, she will come back.

Oscar is also out there. Why left his reintroduction for the last time from the three refugees from the end of last season?

I don’t know. I mean, sometimes it was just to honestly give me places. We obviously had such large storylines with Jason (Steve Kacee) and then with Monica, but also wanted to tell new stories. But then I mean, absence lets the heart grow a little and Oscar comes back in a large way at the end of the season. We obviously told a lot of stories that they saw this season, and it only felt like he was falling as before later in the season.

What can you say about what to do and work together?

Everything is very spoiled. I can’t necessarily say what he is not going, nothing good.

Nolan and Bailey (Jenna Dewan) met a bump on their way to adoption due to the type of their work. But what does that mean for you when it comes to expanding your family?

Yes, in the end I think what we are borne with – because obviously it is not as if first aiders are not able to adopt, but I think only this year has the volume of danger and problems into which both are really, where the obstacle was. I mean, I think you have passed this street, which was ultimately unfulfilled and it will be the two. I don’t necessarily have a plan at the moment, but we will see where we fall in season 8.

So you have brought the documentary back for the episode of the next week, which is fun. Why did you bring it back on this point? And talk about finding out the case for which you would do this.

We love to do them. They were actually born from the pandemic and the body cam or pod car episodes, which the bus was, where it was only shot with surveillance cameras and body cams and dash cams. They were both born from the pandemic by me to find out how to make episodes honest, who were the safest for the actors who were exposed at the time, and therefore an actor or two actors in the car together with no other crew for the POD car episodes.

Then, if only it films you or implement the surveillance camera without a crew without a crew, it was safer, but they were just a kind of really fun opportunities to turn the show upside down. And above all, the true crime documentation is a bit difficult to break because there are so many moving parts and we don’t want you to know where to go. But this season we absolutely wanted to support ourselves a little more in the horror motor, the Ghost Hunter-Y mood, this kind of real scary places type thing. And that’s how it came from.

What does the LAPD challenge in this case?

Obviously belief is one. We have some characters like Celina (Lisseth Chavez) and to a certain extent Lopez (Alyssa Diaz) who believe in things that cannot be explained in the supernatural. And then they have characters like Harper (Mekia Cox) and Nolan, who are much more unbelievers. But (it is) just threads with the needle, as you have fantastic moments, but ultimately still the case in something that feels real, and I think we really did it.

In Episode 16, the team has mixed feelings when a familiar face returns in the hope of proving itself. Is it Seth (Patrick Keleher)? What can you have a preview?

I don’t know yet that I still want to spoil it. I think yes, something from the past comes back and turns on the head. … it shakes the station. I think it’s certainly polarizing.

In this episode, Tim will also support Lucy while preparing for the Sergeant examination. What can you say about what we will see from you when it comes to professional? Because your relationship is so confused in a personal and professional connection, but this is a big moment for your career.

It is a big moment for her career and the way she believed that she would ultimately go under with the test by the detective to try to make Tim happy because he had sacrificed his career a little to get out of her command chain. And so I think that part of the fallout from the separation was really a kind of obligation for her this season that her career had nothing into the background. Checking the Sergeant is really important so that it feels that she moves forward. I mean, obviously we found that it would do it the same and therefore the real obstacle or the physical obstacle would be romantic for you in every long -term thing. But I think in my heart, it is really important that this is not the reason why she does. Obviously it may be a great bonus, but it is really ready to move to the next level. And yes, we will see where it is going.

They approach the season finale. What can you tease on it and how it ends to set up the 8th season?

We drive to a large lively episode, which we obviously enjoy doing at the beginning and at the end of the season. I think in the end there may be some stories aside, but also bring Nolan in the original danger and then only see where our ward leads in season 8.

How would you describe the Cliffhanger?

I would say it is fun and it is unexpected and hopefully people will be very excited about what will happen in season 8.
