Active Holiday Weekend Prognosis: Rain and Warm Temperatures – Indianapolis News | Indiana Wetter | Indiana traffic

Indianapolis (wish) – heavy rain with a few strong storms highlight an active holiday weekend.

Friday:

The temperatures are unusually warm this morning, many areas in the 50s and 60s. A cold front that extends from east -Iowa to central Oklahoma is slowly moving towards Central -Indiana. Before that, a strong increase in the very warm and damp air comes from the golf.

Sometimes you expect the most cloudy sky. In the late afternoon there is a chance of isolated light shower. Otherwise, the conditions remain unusually warm, with the heights reaching the low 80s for the third time this year.

Winds will be a problem, with gusts between 35 and 40 miles per hour lying from the southwest.

Friday evening:

Thunderstorms will increase in the early night, especially in the northern half of the state, until late. A large part of the Indy -U -Bahn area and the points north and west are below one of 5 out of 5 risks for severe storms. Wind winds and large hail are the main concerns, although there is a very low tornado risk overnight. The severe weather window should be closed on Saturday at 3 or 4 in the morning.

Heavy rain this weekend:

While the storm risk is reduced, the rain remains until the holiday weekend. The widespread rain will arrive in several waves all Saturday. Stable showers will be possible all day. One to three centimeters of precipitation is expected on Saturday alone, although the heaviest precipitation is probably northwest of the Indianapolis -U -Bahn area.

A parked limit will keep the chances of rain on Easter Sunday. Search for scattered showers and thunderstorms with occasional breaks during the day. Heavy rain will be a problem again, with another 1 to 3 inch precipitation possible. This will increase the flood risks throughout the area.

High temperatures both on Saturday and Sunday should float by 70 ° F despite the lack of sunshine.

Next week:

The rain opportunities will continue until Monday morning, a few thundering rumbles. The rain should take off until late in the morning and sometimes leave cloudy and comfortable conditions for Monday afternoon.

Drier weather comes in during the week, with the temperatures far above average. Expect a lot of sunshine on Tuesday in the lower 70s. The temperatures rise in the middle and above 70s by the middle of the week. The next rain chance will be expected by Friday next week.
