Philadelphia – Nick Castellanos has not reported a new injury. Manager Rob Thomson only wanted to clear one of his hottest rackets.

After Castellanos left the victory on Thursday with the left hip flexor, he was again against the Marlins in Citizens Bank Park in the line -up on Friday. But the pinch in Phillies ran in the first base on the bottom of the fifth inner in the right field player after winning 2: 3 with a double that day.

Thomson led seven runs in a 7-2 win and took an aggressive step to get Castellanos out so early. With the outfield situation, it made sense to take care.

“At that time I didn’t really want him to run the bases,” said Thomson. “And we were seven or nothing, so I felt pretty comfortable to get him out of it and make sure he is safe.”

Castellanos beats with three homes and six doubles this year. On Friday he smoked a third inning double with 105 miles per hour and then scored in the fifth with 104 miles per hour. Castellanos climbs on the plate and ensures in the middle of the order behind Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the new configuration of Philadelphia. Its production is a contrast to that of the remaining outer field of the Phillies.

The newcomer Max Kepler has an OPS of 0.642 as an everyday left -wing field player, and the Center Field Brandon Marsh, who is now a knee problem every day, recorded no success in April. Its stroke average in the season has dropped to 0.095.

The glove first Johan Rojas has recently put together a few solid bats and swings, but he is the only natural outfield that meets Castellanos on the right on the squad. The loss of your right -wing field due to injuries for any period would be disadvantageous for the Phillies.

In this sense, Thomson Kody Clemens inserted into a one -sided game in the fifth as a pinch of runner. He picked Clemens, a left -hander because the Marlins had just used their only left reliever in Anthony Veneziano. Clemens stayed in the game in the left field while Kepler turned to the right. The Phillies (12-8) recorded to win without much concern.

Castellanos played 162 games last season and played 184 in a row in the regular season. Perhaps this series grabs at some point or its hot start will cool off. In any case, there are not many other options in the outer field. The Phillies need him as often as possible in the line -up. It will be the case on Saturday without new pain or complaints in his hip.

“He will be in there tomorrow,” said Thomson.
