Exclusive: The California 2026 Gouvernatorial Race has just entered a great shock with Republican Steve Hilton in the race for governor Gavin Newsom by governor Gavin Newsom.

The former Fox News employee and author of “Califailure” said he hoped to make “California Golden again”, especially for the state’s “workers”.

“A big decision that I have made that I can now share with you that I will actually run for 2026 for the governor of California. I love this state. For me it is the best place in the world,” Hilton told Fox News in an exclusive interview.

“But after 15 years of one-party rule, this state is hardly recognizable. And I honestly think that the elections in California in 2026 are a moment of life or death, because if we continue with this one-party rule of the Democrats, things will simply deteriorate very quickly,” he added.

Hilton was born in Great Britain and completed the New College in Oxford. He served as the senior advisor to the former British Prime Minister David Cameron, who was the leader of the conservative party.

“(California) really reminded me of Great Britain in the 1970s. The United Kingdom was referred to as” Sick Man of Europe “, Hilton said in a campaign video received by FOX News Digital.

After Hilton moved to California in 2012, he took up the American entrepreneurial spirit and was a co-founder of crowdpac.com, a tech start-up company in Silicon Valley.

Hilton’s contribution to the conservative media in various branches in his time in the USA ended up his own show “The Next Revolution” on the Fox News Channel. The Sunday Night program was broadcast weekly from 2017 to 2023.

Newsoma is called and the candidates take a shot for his place in Sacramento. On the democratic side, Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis, former health and human secretary Xavier Becerra, the former mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa and the former MP Katie Porter, on the long list of names who are looking for the job. On the Republican side, the Sheriff Chad Bianco in Riverside County was on the campaign path for the job.

Although Democrats have a super majority in the legislature, a survey recently stood by the California voter showed that 48% would support a Republican for the governor, according to Sacramento Bee.

“We have a combination of idiots and ideologues who have led this state into the ground and ruined what I consider for the largest state and the largest nation in the world, and it is time for changes,” said Hilton.

For Kamala Harris, the probability of a political comeback can be bleak

Former Vice President Kamala Harris in particular weighs a run after her loss of 2024. Harris would quickly be seen as the democratic front manager if she decided to participate.

The Golden State contradicts serious questions about its future not only to the fires that were torn by Los Angeles County, but also how it navigates problems such as crime, homelessness and budget management for programs such as Medi-Cal. Hundreds of thousands of Californians have been withdrawn from the state from the state every year after pandemic at an accelerated speed.

The cost of living for many Californians is higher than in the rest of the nation, even when it comes to taxes and gas prices.

“We have the highest taxes in the country, but also the highest poverty rate. They have a third of the Californians who cannot meet their basic needs. We have the highest housing costs. This is the main reason why people leave the state,” said Hilton.

The Republican said that the Golden State was once known for “upward mobility” and the country of opportunities, but it has become much more difficult to survive.

“California represented the best America. I think for many people when they thought of the American dream, they thought of California and California dream,” he added.
