Falcons sign former chargers backup QB Easton Stick

The Atlanta Falcons have another quarterback.

The Falcona recorded the former Backup Easton Stick from Chargers on Monday and now has Michael Penix Jr., Kirk Cousins, Emory Jones and Stick in the position. However, sticking is rather remarkable for his timing than for its expected effects on the field in 2025.

The Falcons opened the first phase of their offseason program on Tuesday, and coach Raheem Morris said at the league meetings of the last month that he did not expect cousins to take part in the voluntary workouts. Cousins, who had signed a four -year contract for a four -year leisure agreement in the last seasonal season, told the falcons that he would like to play elsewhere next season after being replaced by Penix Jr. as a starter.

The 6-foot 1, 224 pound stick started four games for the Chargers in 2023 and ended this season with 1,129 yards, three touchdowns and without interceptions. In 2019 he was a choice in the state of North Dakota in the fifth round, where he was 49: 3.

At least Stick Atlanta will provide an arm for the offseason exercises as long as cousins are gone from the team. If cousins are released or acted at some point, Stick could compete with Jones for the backup job in Atlanta. The falcons carried three quarterback penix and cousins on the 53-man squad and Nathan Peterman in the practice man throughout the 2024 season. Stick did not appear in a game of the regular season last season.
