The Philadelphia Phillies have to make changes in the Bullpen to a lost cause before this season.

On Monday, the Phillies already had six parades, which was worst in the Major League baseball. The Bullpen had an ERA of 5.81 together, which was also the worst in the league.

Manager Rob Thompson said reporters that he was not yet concerned because “it is a small sample size”. Thompson is correct, but he has to make changes sooner than later. A change could be to sign Free Agent David Robertson.

Robertson is 40 years old, but he proved last season that he can do a big volume of work. Last year he produced an ERA of 3.00 ERA over 68 appearances with 12.4 k/9, a number that corresponds to everyzing with its career numbers. Robertson also played with the Phillies in two different seasons, so he is very familiar with Pitching in Citizens Bank Park.

For a team that has difficulty preserving victories like the Phillies, Robertson would be the perfect addition to the Bullpen. Spotrac estimates that he would sign for $ 7 million, and it could be much lower if the season is underway.

For a team, Robertson’s age means that is as desperate as the Phillies. There is also very little, if at all, the risk of signing it. The worst case is that, like the others, he appears in the bullpen. When he appears as he did last season, Robertson becomes one of the better relievers and quickly determines a late inning role.
