The former Celtic player becomes the owner of the football club

A former Celtic player took an unexpected step in the middle of his career as a player and became the owner of a club himself.

The former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, who is currently playing for Al -ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, has been appointed the new owner of FK Minija, a team in the second division of the Lithuanian football pyramid.

Fabrizio Romano, a respected football journalist, announced the news, as he wrote: “Moussa Dembele signs as the new owner of the Lithuanian club FK Minija. Dembele has signed all documents about his investment group called Triple M, who also has a Mansa in Mali.”

FK Minija is based in the Lithuanian city of Crete. The club competes in I Lyga in the second Lithuanian division and is currently sitting in 9th place in the 16-team league

Although Dembele himself became the owner, his game days are far from over. He scored 7 goals for Al -ettifaq this season, but is currently injured.

Dembele came into the spotlight for the first time when he was at Fulham when he scored 15 goals in 43 games during the 2015-16 championship campaign. His outstanding achievements attracted the attention of several large clubs and finally changed Scottish giant Celtic.

Dembele proved to be an immediate hit at Celtic. He scored 32 goals in 49 games in all competitions in his first season. He was also the first striker to achieve a hat trick in a Glasgow derby since Harry Hood and led the club to a 5-1 victory over Rangers.

Ultimately, he left Celtic at the Lyon Club after two seasons. He spent five seasons in France, including a loan in Atletico Madrid. The 28-year-old is currently playing for the Saudi Pro League club Al -ettifaq.

Dembele has certainly selected a fascinating career route because there are so many ways that footballers can go down on the traditional coaching path in modern play outside of the competitive area.
