Arlington Babe Ruth organizes the 40th Afiversary event in Barcroft Park

Arlington Babe Ruth will be 40 this year, and there is an event with which the Junior Age Baseballliga is to celebrate the anniversary of the baseball league aged 4 to 12 years.

The event – on Saturday, May 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Barcroft Park, will also serve as the opening ceremony of the league.

There will be a parade of teams, carnival games with prices, a memorial and some special guests such as “Legacy families”. Dignitators and food trucks will be present.

Former league president JP Cooney is once such an old person and will be at hand. He played in the league and trained his son in an Arlington Babe Ruth team years later.

In addition, there will be a free Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run competition for players aged 14 years.

The event is an opportunity for players to present their baseball skills and at the same time get the chance of participating and performing the Major League World Series.

Arlington Babe Ruth began in 1985 with Earle Thorsen as President. The post is currently held by Brett Mikoy.
