Andreeva has never lost before the fourth round in Madrid. When a 15-year-old Wild Card made 312 in her second WTA main junction in 2023 with a breakout run that catapulted her into the spotlight. The following year she went better to reach her first WTA 1000 quarter -finals. Andreeva, a two-time WTA 1000 champion from WTA 1000, kept this record with a second defeat of Nachrich No. 27 in 2025.

Like her 6: 2, 1: 6-, 6-2 victory against the poles in the third round of the Australian Open, it was a highly competitive competition in which Andreeva’s ability was tested to keep a cool head. Sometimes, especially in the first sentence, the 17-year-old was visibly frustrated in view of the tireless call capabilities. However, she was able to shake off her setbacks quickly and progress in 1 hour and 41 minutes.

“I was very, very nervous,” said Andreeva in her interview on the pitch. “I still have difficulty finding my best tennis in Madrid. (But I’m) super happy that I can consistently play the whole match.”

Key to the match: Andreeva’s first service point of the day encapulated her challenge. A 23-stroke exchange with angled slices, high top spin moonball, drop-shot attacks and finally a volley winner of the teenager with false foot and showed that both players wanted to think about each other as overwhelming.

There was a tone for an absorbing series of extended rallies in which the selection of fires was a premium. Andreeva tended to make these chess -like stock exchanges better, and claimed the first break for 3: 2 and saved three break points to 5: 3.

However, it was cheeky to shake off and managed to find a forehand passage on the way to the 5: 5 volley-the point where the boy seemed most visible. But she gathered with two excellent games to complete the set and seal her first setpoint with a clever salva.

Support from a few double mistakes with poorly coordinated cheeky, and Andreeva broke again in the second set for 2: 1. In the meantime, their own service figures improved quickly. Andreeva only conceded four points behind her delivery in the second set. He kept her lead and broke cheekily for the match again. She struck a clean winner of the return – her 31st of the day.

Starodububtseva snap strip strictly strict: Andreeva will compete in the fourth round of the qualification game Yuliia Starodubtseva. The Ukrainian came up from 6: 2, 3: 1 to upset the No. 18 seed Liudmila Samsonova 2-6, 7-6 (2), 6: 0 in 2 hours and 32 minutes, which was strengthened with the third set during the third set.

Starodububtseva rose for the second time in her career after her quarter -finals in Beijing last October the last 16 of a WTA 1000 event. Between Beijing and Madrid, Starodububtseva was winning at WTA Main-Draw level and only grabbed their seven match defeat this week in Madrid. (In the same period she won only four games on each level.)
