EXPANSION NEWS: Use the Holidays to Say “Thank You” to Family, Friends and Farmers | Archive

As we begin a new holiday season, I imagine many of us have used Thanksgiving as a time to reflect a little more consciously on all the things we are grateful for in life. Like many of the tried-and-true sentiments we love to recite this time of year, “gratitude” tends to become a cliché because it’s so frequently expressed. But wouldn’t it make more sense if we all took the time to not only reflect on the many things we are grateful for, but also to let those around us know how grateful we are for the influence that do they have on our lives?

We should never miss the opportunity to express and show our gratitude to the people in our lives who encourage us with their love, support and guidance. Whether parents, teachers, neighbors or colleagues – let’s take the time this holiday season to show these people that we are grateful for them and the positive influence they have on us. Don’t underestimate the power of a few kind words of thanks and the difference they can make in someone’s life by showing them that they are valued. While it may sound like a simple gesture, consistently acknowledging and thanking others will allow us to better appreciate all the wonderful blessings we have.
