The Murder Capital announce new album Blindness

The Murder Capital have announced that their new album Blindness will be released on February 21, 2025. With this news, the Irish band have released their new single “Words Lost Meaning”. Blindness follows their previous LP Gigi’s recovery . The Murder Capital have just toured Europe with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and have already announced shows in the UK and Australia/New Zealand, with more to come.

“Blindness” finds the band firing on all cylinders after the last few years of intense touring, having recorded the album in LA with G producer John Congleton (Sleater-Kinney, Mannequin Pussy, Angel Olsen), with whom the band previously recorded on Gigi’s Recovery worked together. The tracks were created quickly, in intense and fast-paced sessions that emphasized urgency, energy and freshness. “He wanted us to not start demoing or layering tracks, but just record everything over the phone. “When we got to the studio, it wasn’t a song that was suffocated by what it should be, it was about what the song could become,” says McGovern.

“In Words Lost Meaning, love dies,” says McGovern. “When the words ‘I love you’ are used without thought, without feeling, even as a means of concluding a conversation, they become stale and diffuse. No words mean more than these three together.”
