You may have missed a great PlayStation trick without realizing it.

As CryptoNite90 pointed out on the PS5 subreddit, sometimes it’s worth canceling your subscription early to see if discounts are unlocked.

“In your PC or phone browser, go to your PlayStation account, click your profile, click Subscription Management, then click Cancel to cancel your subscription,” they explained.

At this point it is important to draw your attention to another important piece of information.

As the OP makes clear in an edit to his first post, this trick doesn’t always seem to work.

They added: “Edit: Some have mentioned that you should wait a day or so after clicking cancel. Apparently it took some time and it only appeared after some time.”

Just like the OP, we can’t confirm that this secret hack works every time, although it did get some users a cheaper subscription as promised.

“Worked for me, now I see $119.99 before I saw $159.99,” Section_80 commented.

“It works, but I had to wait,” Tadpole-Jackson said. “It took about a day for it to update and I had the option to receive a discount to my current tier after canceling.”

There are even more comments saying this tip doesn’t work.
