Alabama vs. Auburn today channel, time, TV info, streaming

It’s officially Iron Bowl Saturday: The state of Alabama stands still for more than three hours a year when the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers meet on the gridiron.

Today marks the 89th year of the Iron Bowl rivalry and there is a lot at stake for both teams. Alabama (8-3 overall, 4-3 SEC) needs a win over Auburn and some help if the Crimson Tide wants to reach the first 12-team College Football Playoff.

Kalen DeBoer’s team sits at No. 13 in this week’s CFP rankings after a disastrous 24-3 loss to Oklahoma in Week 13. Jalen Milroe had his worst performance in two years as Alabama’s starting quarterback. He threw three interceptions, including a return for a touchdown, and was 11 of 26 for 164 yards against Oklahoma.

Auburn (5-6, 2-5) needs a win to avoid two losing seasons under coach Hugh Freeze. The Tigers pulled off a 43-41 upset over Texas A&M in the 4OT last Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Peyton Thorne threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns. Jarquez Hunter ran for three touchdowns and 130 yards on 28 carries against A&M.

Alabama leads the all-time series with Auburn at 50-37-1 and has won four straight and five of the last six in the rivalry. Auburn hasn’t won in Tuscaloosa since the infamous “Camback” game in 2010, when Cam Newton led the Tigers from a 24-0 deficit to a 28-27 victory at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama beat Auburn 27-24 in last year’s Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare, thanks to an incredible 4th-and-31 Milroe touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond (nicknamed “Gravedigger”) with 32 seconds left.
