Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen spend Thanksgiving with their sons in the emergency room

Modern family Co-stars Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson are both grateful after making separate trips to the emergency room with their respective sons on Thanksgiving.

Bowen, who played Type A mom Claire Dunphy on the hit sitcom, posted an Instagram photo on Thursday night showing the silhouette of one of her boys against the glow of the emergency room entrance. “It’s not a vacation without a trip to the emergency room,” she wrote in the caption. She added: “(He’s fine by the way) HAPPY THANKSGIVING.”

Meanwhile, Ferguson played Claire’s younger brother Mitch Modern familyrevealed in his own Instagram post Friday morning that he also spent the holidays in the hospital with his son.

Ferguson expressed sympathy for his former screen sibling, writing, “I received a lot of parenting tips from @itsjuliebowen, so it was reassuring to see that I wasn’t the only one with a child in the emergency room on Thanksgiving,” Ferguson added , that his son is “doing well too,” thanked “the nice people at Lennox Health” and said that New York City “really has the best health care.”

Bowen has three sons with her ex-husband Scott Phillips, one of whom was born in April 2007 and the twins she was pregnant with during filming were born in May 2009 Modern family Pilot. Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita have two children together, Beckett and Sullivan, born in 2020 and 2022.

Everything Modern family The cast have remained close friends since the series ended in 2020. The adult actors recently reunited onstage at the SAG Awards, but often spend time together outside of work. Ferguson even officiated the wedding of his TV niece Sarah Hyland The Bachelor franchise star Wells Adams (and both Bowen and Sofia Vergara were among the guests).

It’s probably too early for one Modern family reboot (though a Mitch and Cam spinoff was once considered), but holiday visits to the ER together sound like a storyline straight out of the Emmy-winning series.

Let’s hope Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Phil (Ty Burrell) kept some turkey warm for their TV spouses.
