College GameDay panel picks Alabama over Auburn, but one disagrees

ESPN’s “College GameDay” panel was largely in agreement on the weekly picks Saturday.

However, when it comes to the Iron Bowl, there was only one who chose Auburn to beat Alabama.

“Maybe I still have a bad taste in my mouth from calling the Oklahoma-Alabama game last week,” Kirk Herbstreit said. “Auburn dominated the line of scrimmage in this game last year. Coach (Nick Saban), I love you. I think War Eagle goes to Tuscaloosa and upsets Alabama.”

Speaking of the former Alabama coach, his prognosis was short.

“Do you have to ask?” he said.

Desmond Howard, like Herbstreit, believes the loss to Oklahoma had a negative impact on Alabama.

“I think Alabama is coming into the game mentally messed up because of what happened a week ago,” he explained. “I think they will bounce back. You will have the crowd behind you. I don’t think they’re covering, but I think Bama will win.”

McAfee agreed.

“They play the game at Saban Field,” he said. “I choose the team that is my home. Give me Alabama to help me get back on my feet after a wake-up call last week.

Celebrity picker Dude Perfect quoted the story.

“I don’t remember what a four-loss Alabama team looks like, give me Alabama.”

Corso, who predicted Auburn earlier in the show, appeared to have changed his mind.

“Auburn, closer than the experts think,” he said before choosing Kalen DeBoer’s team.
