Driver killed in multi-car crash in Marion County, cops say

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-75 in Marion County on Friday. According to FHP, the accident occurred just before 6 p.m. Friday near mile marker 365 on I-75. According to police, the driver of a southbound pickup truck lost control and crashed into the median barrier. The pickup rolled over the guardrail and crashed into a northbound sedan. Debris from that accident also struck an SUV traveling nearby. The three people in the pickup truck and the three people in the sedan were transported to the hospital. The driver of the pickup, a 65-year-old man from Apopka, was pronounced dead at the hospital. FHP said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver and passengers of the SUV struck by debris were not injured in the accident.
