New York cannabis bust: 100 pounds of marijuana products seized from illegal East Village dispensary

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) — 100 pounds of marijuana products were seized from an illegal Manhattan dispensary.

The New York sheriff led a raid on the location, located on East 10th Street in the East Village.

Almost half of the goods seized were cannabis flowers. There were also THC edibles and e-cigarettes.

The store’s location caught the attention of law enforcement.

“There’s a park right across the street – there’s a church across the street too. The goal here is, firstly, to ensure that our communities are safe, and secondly, the goal here is to enable legally licensed dispensaries to thrive in communities and serve the communities they serve should serve,” said Sherriff Anthony Miranda.

Miranda warns that marijuana products from illegal dispensaries may be untested and mixed with dangerous additives.
