The family’s nightmare began when the child’s father parked his Acura RDX on Mac Donough Place in the Country Club district of the Bronx on Thursday and took his 2-year-old into the family home, cops said.

When he returned moments later to pick up his 7-year-old, he saw a stranger driving away with his son still inside, police said.

Police used the child’s mother’s phone to track the car through the Acura app.

As police searched for the stolen car and boy, they learned of an accident involving a vehicle matching the description of the Acura.

A witness called police after seeing the boy standing outside the Acura crying, a police source said.
