“Carroll Women Want to Move On, Host College of Idaho”

Women’s Basketball | 11/30/24 | 10:19 am

HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College Women’s Basketball team will return to the court this afternoon as they host the College of Idaho at the PE Center at 2 p.m

The Fighting Saints (3-3) will look to pick up their third straight win to close out the month of November, and the Yotes (1-3) are the only team standing in their way.

After two losses a few weeks ago in Lewiston, Idaho, the Saints suffered a sharp decline in the NAIA women’s basketball coaches poll this week. Carroll fell 12 spots and is now ranked 21st in the nation.

However, the Saints are winners of their last two games and will look to continue building momentum in a busy month of December.

In their final game against Bushnell, two preseason all-conference selections made their presence felt. Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-JR) and Kyndall Keller (Havre, Mont. / R-SR) combined for 51 points in the lopsided win, including an outstanding 30-point performance from Albrecht.

Albrecht has scored 50 points in her last two games after also scoring a game-high 20 points in Carroll’s win over Embry-Riddle last week.

College of Idaho led No. 6 Providence for most of the first half in yesterday’s first game of the Thanksgiving Classic in Helena, but faltered down the stretch. The Yotes have lost to two Frontier schools this year, yesterday against Providence and earlier this month against Rocky Mountain College.

The start of the matinee on Saturday is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. You can find a live stream HERE on the Fighting Saints Network.
