A California mother who confronted Newsom over the wildfire response is speaking out

A California mother who took Gov. Gavin Newsom to task over his handling of the response devastating forest fires in Los Angeles County called on him to clean up and improve the situation so residents can begin to deal with the aftermath of the fire.

Rachel Darvish ran toward Newsom as he was getting into a black SUV and explained that her daughter’s school had been destroyed.

“Please tell me what you’re going to do,” said Darvish, who is an attorney.

Newsom responded that he was trying to reach President Biden so he could find out what they could do to help Darvish and her daughter.

“Can I hear? Can I hear your call? Because I don’t believe it,” she replied. Newsom pointed to his phone and claimed he had poor cell service and was unable to reach the president.

Darvish told “Jesse Watters Primetime” Thursday that she wanted to believe Newsom was telling the truth about his attempt Contact Biden.

“I really want to believe him. I really want to, and there were no cell phone reception in certain areas, okay? But that in itself is a big problem. “Why doesn’t he have a satellite car with a cell phone?” she asked.

Biden met with Newsom on Wednesday to learn about the numerous infernos raging across California.

The president approved a major disaster declaration for the Golden State and announced Thursday Federal Government would pay “100%” of disaster relief costs related to the wildfires for 180 days.

Darvish said there have been a history of fires in Pacific Palisades and he wasn’t sure why the response was slow.

“After I received the report of a fire, I left my house, packed my things and left because the fire was right there. On the way down, I didn’t see a single fire truck coming to my aid,” she told Fox News host Jesse Watters.

She added that it was not the firefighters’ fault because the orders “came from above.”

To Newsom, she said, “Governor, can you just clean this up and?” Fix it and move on? At least that’s what I’d like to see. But will that happen? I don’t know. You know, these guys are rooted in what they do.”
