A road closure that lasted for months forced a detour

The South Carolina Department of Transportation warned drivers Thursday of a month-long road closure in Cherokee County. Starting December 9, crews will temporarily close Windslow Avenue as part of the I-85 widening project. The road is expected to reopen Jan. 9, officials said. The South Carolina Department of Transportation warned drivers Thursday of a month-long road closure in Cherokee County.

Starting December 9, crews will temporarily close Windslow Avenue as part of the I-85 expansion project.
