Aaron Hernandez Special Directs ID’s ‘Murder Under Friday Night Lights’

A two-hour special about the fall of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez kicks off the new season of ID’s football-themed true crime series “Murder Under the Friday Night Lights.”

“Aaron Hernandez and the Untold Murders of Bristol” will premiere January 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, ID President Jason Sarlanis announced during his panel at Content London on Thursday. New episodes of “Murder Under the Friday Night Lights” will follow on Wednesdays starting January 15th.

According to a press release, the new documentary special “explores the tragic encounter between Aaron Hernandez and two of his high school teammates, Alex Ryng and Nicholas Brutcher, who, in a disturbing twist of fate, also committed murder.”

The special will feature interviews with Hernandez’s childhood friend Alex Bradley, who was shot in the face by Hernandez, and Ernest Wallace, a family friend who was with Hernandez the night Odin Lloyd was murdered. The press release said the episode “reveals a horrifying pattern of violence that began in Hernandez’s youth, continued throughout his football career and his suffering from a severe case of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), and in his suicide that year.” 2017 culminated.”

Sarlanis said in a statement: “In this new documentary spin-off from the team behind ID’s signature series ‘Murder Under the Friday Night Lights,’ intimate details of Aaron Hernandez’s life are revealed, including exclusive interviews that shed new light on this tragic story “The investigation uncovers the disturbing connections between Hernandez and two other killers from his high school football team and uncovers deeper issues in their upbringing that may have influenced their careers.”
