Abbeville County Coroner investigates after car found in lake

The coroner was called on Sunday evening

The Abbeville County Coroner is investigating a crash that killed one person. The coroner said he was called just before 8 p.m. Sunday night when a vehicle was found in the water of Legion Lake. Crews were called to Legion Lake Road and Gate Road in Honea Path. Abbeville County EMS, Abbeville County Dive Team, Abbeville County Fire Department First Responders, Abbeville County Sheriff’s Department, SC Highway Patrol and SC DNR responded to the scene. The coroner said Diana Hendrix Dotterer, 59, of Ware Shoals, was the only person in the vehicle. The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated.
