The California Utility Company Southern California Edison said on Thursday that its equipment could be “associated with the ignition of the Hurst fire”, which burned next to the fires of Eaton and Palisades during the fire storm of Los Angeles in January.

Last month, the company confirmed that fire brigade agencies were examined whether its equipment may have started with the Hurst Fire, which burned about 799 acres in Los Angeles County. The fire burned eight days before it was completely contained on January 16, but, according to the California Ministry of Forest and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire, did not destroy or led to death.

“Without additional evidence, SCE believes that his equipment could be associated with the ignition of the Hurst fire,” says Thursday. Socal Edison said it continues to work with the authorities, since the cause of the fire continues to be examined.

The coordinated joint information center of the Los Angeles district and the fire brigade of Los Angeles County both refused to comment on submission.

CNN also contacted the California Gavin Newsom and the Mayor of La Karen Bass in California to comment on the company’s approval.

A second registration on Thursday dealt with videos of the early phase of the deadly Eaton Fire, which suggests a possible connection to socal devices. The company said that it is still working to determine potential causes of the ignition, even if its equipment is related to the cause of the fire that destroyed over 9,000 structures.

“We saw information like videos shared by external parties of the early phases of the fire. These are worrying and can suggest a possible connection to Sces devices. We take it very seriously, ”said Pedro J. Pizarro, President and CEO of the parent company of Socal Edison, Edison International, in a video message on Thursday.
