According to the PMO, Hamas is trying to make last-minute changes to the hostage-taking deal

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a conference call with the negotiating team in Doha, which reported on last-minute attempts by Hamas to withdraw from the hostage-taking agreement, the prime minister’s office said in a statement on Thursday.

“Contrary to an explicit clause giving Israel veto power over the release of mass murderers who are symbols of terror, Hamas demands that the identities of these terrorists be dictated,” the statement said.

“The prime minister instructed the negotiating team to stick to the agreed agreements and resolutely reject Hamas’s last-minute blackmail attempts.”

Earlier in the evening, the Prime Minister’s Office indicated that there were still some unresolved issues in the framework, but expressed hope that these would be resolved overnight. The security cabinet is scheduled to meet at 11 a.m. to give final approval to the agreement.

The first phase of the contract will last 42 days and the implementation of the agreement will begin two to three days after its signing.

Partial withdrawal of the IDF

The IDF will withdraw from the Netzarim corridor and all populated areas of the enclave up to about 700 meters from the border, except for five specific areas where it will be 400 meters.

The IDF will reportedly reduce its presence in the Philadelphia Corridor and then completely withdraw from it over the first 50 days.
