Adam Sandler was spotted at the same cafe in North Jersey twice

North Jersey residents flocked to Morristown two weeks ago for the chance to star in an Adam Sandler film. This weekend, the actor explored the city himself and visited two cafes.

There was a buzz on social media Sunday after Lokl Cafe posted a photo on Instagram showing Sandler flashing a peace sign in an employee’s selfie while waiting in line at the South Street store. The actor, comedian and director then returned to Lokl the next day, the store said in a comment on the post.

Lokl shared another photo on Tuesday of Sandler — in what has become his trademark outfit of Hawaiian shirt and baggy basketball shorts — posing with his coffee in hand and holding up another peace sign.

It’s unclear why Sandler was in Morristown, but some commentators speculated that he was visiting locations in the area before filming Happy Gilmore 2. The sequel to the 1996 film starring Sandler will feature scenes filmed from September through November in Morris, Bergen, Essex, Somerset and Monmouth counties.

Last month, producers held an open casting call at the Hyatt Regency in Morristown to find extras for the film. Thousands of people attended the call in person, with videos showing the line of acting candidates stretching across the city and snarling traffic in hopes of landing a background role.
