Sometimes there are rules not They’re worth breaking, especially when the rules are set by your parents.

In today’s story, a student is temporarily staying with her parents, and when her mother gives her a rule, she decides to follow it no matter what.

See how one Redditor gets her justice when she does Exactly as she was told…

This malicious act of compliance is still ongoing.

For some context, I’m a university student living on my parents’ couch for the next two weeks before moving back to my school’s city. They are currently renewing their pool with staff working MF.

Her mother disapproves of her plan to make quick money.

I pay my own rent for a room near my university, so I signed up for a clinical trial to save myself the additional burden of paying for my expensive medications while getting some money for grocery shopping.

I had an appointment for the trial this morning and told my mother about it last night.

She immediately refused, saying she didn’t want me to be a “guinea pig” for money.

So she woke up before me and got my car out so I couldn’t drive it.

There is another car…

The only other car in the driveway is her big truck, which I’m not comfortable with but will do if necessary, so I called her and told her that because she took my car.

I (said I would drive her truck to the appointment instead).

She of course flipped the lid and yelled at me that I was sold out (I’m just trying to get some money for grocery shopping here!!).

My mother also made it clear that she has her own plans and won’t be back with my car until later today.

She then ended the conversation by saying that under no circumstances would I be allowed to drive her car.

This is where the pool comes into play.

Fine. Whatever.

I rescheduled my appointment and went back to the couch to sleep when the pool workers showed up.

They have a huge concrete truck that can only be used when the driveway is empty, but of course my mother’s car is in the middle of it.

It looks like construction cannot begin.

So you can’t start work until my mom’s truck pulls out of the driveway, and since no one else is home, I’m the only one who can do that.

Oh, except for the fact that I’m not allowed to drive her car under any circumstances.

Oops.

Well, that’s quite an obedient daughter if I do say so myself!
