After Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo went viral for crying so much during the “Wicked” press tour, they’ve now addressed the whole conversation

If you’ve been following the Wicked press tour, you know it was pretty emotional for Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Grande and Erivo play Glinda and Elphaba in the upcoming musical film, which hits theaters in the US on November 22nd.

After production was pushed back due to COVID-19 related production delays, Evil Filming began in December 2022. However, the film then had to be canceled due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, making its imminent release a long time coming, to say the least.

Both Grande and Erivo appeared visibly emotional on several occasions over the course of time Evil Press tour – so much so that it has become something of a press tour Running joke on-line.

Well, Grande and Erivo have now addressed the talk themselves.

Separately, Grande further explained to Entertainment Tonight why she and Erivo shed so many tears while promoting “Wicked.”

“You have to understand that it’s been three years now, guys!” Ari said.

“Why does emotional availability scare you so much?” she asked jokingly, before repeating to Cynthia that her tears were the result of “happiness” and “joy.”

Well, here we go! Evil will hit theaters later this month on November 22nd.
